  1. I knew my local House rep. voted against the bailout, but I didn’t know that both my senators (Casey and Specter) voted in favor of it. I still think it was a bad idea (especially through the eyes of a person in his mid-20s). Thanks for this report.

  2. You are very welcome.

I too, believe it to be a bad idea to come to the rescue of these GSEs. The real punch-in-the-gut to me is why, after spending so much energy and (seemingly) intellect to setup the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, they somehow do not see the importance of oversight and regulation designed to avoid this mess in the first place. Second, why is Barney Frank (D-Mass.) and his ilk so intent on killing efforts to bring these oversights and regulations into play?

  3. Thank you for the report. With Bailout Barney Frank as my congressperson and Kerry & Kennedy as me senators, I will be a “Man Without a Country” when Messiah Obama begins his reign. Since the republicans could not defeat the bailout, I’m disappointed more did not vote against it.

  4. I think many where wooed, flim-flammed, bamboozled, conned, had their arm twisted and mesmerized as would be a chicken watching a card trick. Then they relented.

They are after all merely lawyers. Few are qualified accountants. I think it mostly was over their heads and there was little time (so they say) to wrap their pin-heads around it all.
